Looking for steel for a project in Taringa?
Super Steel supplies steel across Brisbane for jobs ranging from repairs and alterations to fabrication, construction, fencing and ongoing maintenance.
You can order individual steel products or put several different sections into the same material list. Cut-to-length and selected processing services are also available for suitable products.
If you already have the dimensions, start there. Send us the steel type, size, required lengths and quantities rather than writing a long description of the project.
Have a drawing, cutting list or bill of materials? Use the specifications from that document when requesting your quote.
Call 07 3274 3111 or contact Super Steel with your requirements.
Super Steel stocks steel for fabrication, building, maintenance, fencing and general trade requirements.

You don’t necessarily need a large material schedule to request a steel quote.
For a smaller repair, alteration or one-off project, start with the material you need.
For example:
RHS → section size → wall thickness → finish → length → quantity
or
Flat bar → width → thickness → length → quantity
or
Pipe → size → finish → length → quantity
Providing these details helps identify the required material without relying on descriptions such as “a piece of RHS for a frame” or “some pipe for a repair.”
If you’re replacing an existing non-structural component, check the original dimensions and thickness where possible.
For structural or load-bearing components, use the steel specifications shown in the relevant engineering or project documentation rather than selecting a replacement based only on appearance or approximate dimensions.
Buying full lengths isn’t always practical for the job.
Super Steel operates multiple saws at our Coopers Plains facility, from smaller saws through to large pack-cutting bandsaws capable of handling full bundles.
Cutting is available for applicable:
Instead of simply asking for “cut steel,” specify each required length.
For example:
| Material | Required Length | Pieces |
|---|---|---|
| Specified RHS | 2100 mm | 4 |
| Same RHS | 1200 mm | 6 |
| Specified Pipe | 1800 mm | 3 |
If the same steel section needs several different cuts, keep those dimensions together in the cutting list.
For larger fabrication jobs, you can send an existing cutting schedule rather than entering every cut again.
A single job may require more than one steel product.
For example, a fabrication or maintenance order could contain RHS for the main frame, angle for brackets, flat bar for smaller components and plate for mounting points.
Instead of making separate enquiries, put the products into one material list.
A simple format is:
| Item | Specification | Length / Size | Quantity | Preparation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RHS | Required section & thickness | Required lengths | As required | Cutting if needed |
| Angle | Required dimensions | Required lengths | As required | Cutting/punching if applicable |
| Flat Bar | Width & thickness | Required lengths | As required | Cropping/punching if applicable |
| Pipe | Required size & finish | Required lengths | As required | Cutting/pipe processing if needed |
| Plate | Required thickness/grade | Required dimensions | As required | As specified |
The actual specifications should come from your project requirements, drawings or material schedule.
If you already have this information in a spreadsheet or bill of materials, send the existing document.
Some material can be prepared further before it leaves Super Steel.
Current processing capabilities for applicable products include:
| Material | Available Processing |
|---|---|
| Flat Bar | Cropping, punching |
| Round Bar | Cropping, punching |
| Angle | Cropping, punching |
| Pipe | Swaging, crimping, cranking, drilling, threading |
Pipe threading is available from 15NB to 100NB. NB refers to Nominal Bore, a sizing convention used for pipe.
Processing requirements should be included with the original material enquiry.
For example:
Pipe size + finish + cut length + quantity + threading requirement
Providing all of the information together makes it easier to assess the material and processing as one order.
Repair work can be more difficult to specify than new fabrication because the original material details may not be obvious.
If you’re replacing a non-structural steel component, record as much information as you can before requesting material:
Profile → dimensions → thickness → finish → required length → quantity
Where drawings or previous material records exist, use those specifications.
For structural members or components carrying loads, refer to the relevant engineering documentation. A steel section should not be substituted simply because another section looks similar or has roughly the same external dimensions.

Delivery timing depends on product availability, quantities, preparation requirements and transport arrangements.
You can find more information on our Brisbane steel supplier and service area pages.
The more specific the material request, the easier it is to understand what the job requires.
Before sending your enquiry, check whether you have the following:
| Detail | Example of Information Needed |
|---|---|
| Steel Type | RHS, pipe, angle, flat bar, plate, beam |
| Section / Dimensions | Complete product dimensions |
| Thickness | Wall or material thickness where relevant |
| Finish | Galvanised, painted or other specified finish |
| Grade | Project-specified grade where applicable |
| Lengths | Stock or individual cut lengths |
| Quantity | Number of pieces |
| Preparation | Cutting, punching, threading or other applicable processing |
| Delivery | Taringa address if delivery is required |
You don’t need to convert an existing material schedule into a new format just for the enquiry. If the required information is already in a bill of materials, cutting list or spreadsheet, send that instead.
Yes. Super Steel handles different order requirements, from smaller jobs through to larger material orders. Send the steel specification, dimensions, lengths and quantities you require.
Cutting is available for applicable RHS, pipe, beams and channels. Provide the steel specification together with each required cut length and quantity.
Put them into one material list. Identify the specification and quantity of each product and add cutting or processing instructions beside the item they apply to.
Yes. If your requirements are already documented in a cutting schedule, bill of materials or spreadsheet, send that with the enquiry rather than rewriting it.
Applicable pipe processing includes swaging, crimping, cranking, drilling and threading. Current threading capability ranges from 15NB to 100NB.
